Samara (North) - 33 kms away
Driving the 33 km from San Miguel to Samara you will pass through tiny hamlets where you can get in touch with rural tico life. Perhaps you have a break in a village saloon and chat with a local cowboy. Or enter a small grocery store and wonder at the amazing assortment of goods: from food, to chain saws, saddles, clothing, toys, to cigars and computer supplies.

Samara is a reasonable sized coastal town. There are several hotels and small resorts with restaurants open to walk-in guests. Samara has a beauty salon (where you can get a hair-do) and a grocery store which is akin to the grocery store in Coyote. Here's the most useful website for Samara: samarabeach.com.
